The Griffin Riders are an elite group of warriors who operate out of the Aerie, located in and associated with the Kingdom of Lyne. They protect the kingdom from the air, which helps to balance the fact that it lacks the same level of sophisticated airships used by Altur. Notably, the Griffin Riders have a standing rivalry with Lyne's Order of Magi, such that being too closely involved with the one tends to make it difficult to remain affiliated with the other.
