Adventurer
Background
Early Life
Enkidu was not born like an ordinary creature, but rather a divinely crafted being. He was created for a specific purpose: to be the equal and companion of Gilgamesh, the demigod-king of Uruk. After he was shaped and life was breathed into him, he was set in the wilds near the land of Sumer. He lived among wild animals, eating grasses, running with gazelles and wrestling bulls and lions. After a sheep herder encountered him at a watering hole, Enkidu was enticed away from his wild life live among humans.
Adventures with Gilgamesh
After hearing about Gilgamesh and his tyrannical rule over the city of Uruk, Enkidu set out to stop him. He found the king in the streets of Uruk, and the two set to wrestling. Buildings were toppled and trees ripped up as they struggled, each unable to overpower the other. When finally the two of them fell to the ground exhausted, an entire district of the city lay in ruins. From that day onward, the two became the closest of companions. Together the two had many adventures, fighting monsters and invading armies from the other cities of Sumer. All the while, Enkidu managed to temper Gilgamesh's rule, giving him a fairer and more just hand in his dealings.
Traveling to another World
Through the machinations of the goddess Ishtar, Enkidu was tricked into passing through a portal to another world. Far from home yet fascinated by this new world, Enkidu's dreams tell him that more adventures lie ahead for him.
