|pers=Emmett is surprisingly approachable for a man of his fame and status, and he makes a point of always being available to the public. He often strolls through public areas, avoiding crowds but apparently enjoying talking to ordinary people, joking and expressing interest in their likes, dislikes, and experiences. To some extent this is a performance, but he also does genuinely like most people (individually) and likes getting to know them. As long as his own interests aren't at risk, he is fairly willing to go along with other people's interests, vicariously enjoying their enjoyment.

==History==

Emmett was born into a wealthy family that had little time for him, so he learned early how to claim the attention that nobody would willingly give... and later how to use that attention to manipulate others. Modeling gave focus to that impulse, and his family disapproved, which gave him more motivation. As he grew older, he discovered a superhuman abiity to manipulate people's minds, and he used that ability the way he always had: to amass power, fame, celebrity, wealth. He took over the company that controlled his brand. He joined Hellfire and worked his way up the ranks. But at every new height, there were those who opposed him, and he eventually realized that there would be no real peace, or order, or safety, until he controlled everything. When his secondary mutation emerged he went public with it, even arranged for a few very public assassination attempts to garner public sympathy. ==Public Persona==

Emmett is known as a philanthropist and activist who uses his wealth and fame and popularity to advance numerous public causes. In particular, he is open about how he was sexually exploited early in his career (it's not true, but he's open about it anyway) and campaigns vigorously for legal protections for sex workers and prosecution of rapists and abusers. Among businessmen he's known for being impossible to fool, like a living lie detector, and for having an unmatched information network. Among Hellfire members and their confidantes he's known as an insatiable sexual machine whose lovers become practically addicted to his touch. ==Private Psychology==

Emmett wants desperately to be loved, but because he never truly reveals himself to anyone, he never receives genuine love. He has accepted this and seeks power over others instead, trying to convince himself that it's a good enough substitute.

== WEAKNESSES ==

When not in diamond form, he can easily be overwhelmed by other people's strong emotions, sensations (including pain), or needs. In extreme cases he can even lose his sense of self altogether, becoming temporarily overcome by external influences. He is capable of putting up telepathic shields to protect himself from this, but it takes time and concentration.}}
